Amphatar finds itself in dark places to hide due to its hard shell limiting its mobility. To fend off anything that comes too close, its tail can emit blindingly bright flashes of light in short bursts.

A Amphatar creates a gas inside its body that it ejects under compression to propel itself like a jet. It gives off so much light that it can be seen even from space.
