Amphaeye assemble caches of tourmaline, breaking the gems down and imbuing them with energy to store electrical charges within them. They then arrange the glowing gems along rocky shorelines, forming a vibrant warning to ships heading in to coast.
It digs branching holes in caves using its sharp claws in search of food--raw gems. It gives off so much light that it can be seen even from space.
