Bukip only open their buds when they are exposed to plenty of moisture; lying in deep enough water or mud fits the requirements. They emit earthy scents from their red fins, and from their blue fins, they emit the scent of water.
Bukip enjoy playing in puddles on rainy days. The buds on their cheeks begin to bloom when spring is near, releasing pollen into the air.
On land, it can powerfully lift large boulders by planting its four feet and heaving. Over the winter, it closes its bud and endures the cold.
