Bulbaoh emerge from hiding after a period of heavy rain to blow clouds away and make room for the sun, creating rainbows in the process. They release seeds from their bulb to take opportunity of the sunlight and freshly watered soil.

Its feathers--which glow in seven colors depending on the angle at which they are struck by light--are thought to bring joy. Bulbaoh can be seen napping in bright sunlight.
