Resembling nest boxes, Buttersand offers rest and protection for up to a hundred Butterfree. When Butterfree's predators get near, Buttersand abruptly shuts its slats so Butterfree cannot be forcibly removed.

Buried beneath the castle are masses of dried-up bones from those whose vitality it has drained. It has a superior ability to search for delicious honey from flowers.
