If Carphox finds itself alone, it tries to channel the illusion of other Carphox or Carvanha to give it the courage to hunt. Ships are advised to avoid any areas where they see flames flickering on the surface, a sure sign of their habitat.

It gazes into the flame at the tip of its branch to achieve a focused state, which allows it to see into the future. Carphox attack ships in swarms, making them sink.
