The silky cocoon around Casuna's body is sticky and allows it to hang from trees. On the rare occasion this cocoon is damaged, it oozes out a toxic substance to deter predators.
It remains virtually immobile while it clings to a tree. To avoid detection by its enemies, it hides motionlessly beneath large leaves and in the gaps of branches.
