Caterlup defend themselves by spewing sticky threads at threats. These threads will expand and become stickier when exposed to water. Although they are quite weak, Caterlup refuse to accept handouts, even from their Trainers.

Because it is very proud, it hates accepting food from people. Its voracious appetite compels it to devour leaves bigger than itself without hesitation.
