Darkder burrow their way into the hulls of large ships, seeming to prefer to cluster around the sleeping quarters. Passengers who sleep on Darkder infested ships often find themselves caught within night terrors that are difficult to wake from.

At night, it burrows a hole in the seafloor with its broad tongue to make a place to sleep. It can lull people to sleep and make them dream.
