Deleye uses its glowing staff as bait, hiding in the darkness with only the bright tip exposed. When cave Pokémon investigate, it pounces, stealing and eating any crystals they were carrying.
It digs branching holes in caves using its sharp claws in search of food--raw gems. It gazes into the flame at the tip of its branch to achieve a focused state, which allows it to see into the future.
