Although generally non-confrontational, Eelekraid has the ability to fire accurate shots of lightning, or even to sneak up unnoticed on other Pokémon and bite with electrified fangs. It must occasionally surface from the water for air.

A Eelekraid uses its abdominal muscles to forcefully expel swallowed water, then shoot down flying prey. With their sucker mouths, they suck in prey.
