Ferroflame have metallic bodies that are always hot to the touch, even in rain; only in winter does their heat ever slightly drop. They ambush their enemies with swift diving strikes and by launching many hot, steel spikes at them.

In the fever of an exciting battle, it showers embers from the gaps between its feathers and takes to the air. They attach themselves to cave ceilings, firing steel spikes at targets passing beneath them.
