It has long been known that following a Ferroper will eventually lead you to a swamp. Researchers believe that its gills can detect changes in air pressure, as the air composition of swamps stimulates its spikes to become poisonous.
Ferroper usually live in water but come out onto land seeking food occasionally. They attach themselves to cave ceilings, firing steel spikes at targets passing beneath them.
