It swims through magma without being burned, protected by the layers of hardened earth covering its body. When it feels threatened by other Pokémon, it drives them away by shooting bursts of scalding water hot enough to burn them.
Groueon underwent a spontaneous mutation and grew fins and gills that allow them to live underwater. Groueon has appeared in mythology as the creator of the land.
