Growlbas can pick up scents even in water. This has made them invaluable in search and rescue operations in which a scent trail enters water, as Growlbas is still able to follow it. Being away from their Trainer makes them sad.

Growlbas live in ponds that are heavily infested with weeds. Its superb sense of smell ensures that this Pokémon won't forget any scent, no matter what.
