Ho-plume have flower petals that sparkle with the colors of the rainbow, though they can only have five colors at a time. When agitated, they produce a shimmering pollen that causes itchiness, giving them time to escape.

In seasons when it produces more pollen, the air around a Ho-plume turns yellow with the powder as it walks. Its feathers--which glow in seven colors depending on the angle at which they are struck by light--are thought to bring joy.
