Hypter will hide in the shadows for hours, waiting for an unlucky passerby to see its pendulum. It is said that its victims fall into a deep sleep and are spirited away to have their dreams eaten for the rest of their life.

If a Hypter beckons you while it is floating in darkness, don't approach it. The arcing movement and glitter of the pendulum in a Hypter's hand lull the foe into deep hypnosis.
