This Pokémon can produce a very potent sleeping gas, some Hypfing even being used by anesthesiologists during surgery. The Pokémon has to undergo weeks of training before it can help, as it could put the patients to sleep for dozens of hours.

Getting up close to a Hypfing will give you a chance to observe, through its thin skin, the toxic gases swirling inside. The arcing movement and glitter of the pendulum in a Hypfing's hand lull the foe into deep hypnosis.
