Hypgon-Z collects discarded phones and projects hypnotic images on them to lull Trainers to sleep. If a Hypgon-Z sees a Trainer up late on their phone, it will send the signal of the display onto their phone instead and eat their dreams.
Additional software was installed to make it a better Pokémon. The arcing movement and glitter of the pendulum in a Hypgon-Z's hand lull the foe into deep hypnosis.
