Kingras makes its home near shallow rivers, feeding primarily on cattails and reeds. If attacked by a predator, it releases clouds of orange spores from its large claw that can cause confusion.
Kingras can be found shuffling about on beaches during humid mornings. Its smaller claw is used to dig through the sand for food, while the larger pincer is used in self-defense.
