Krokocargo shapes boulders found in the desert using its fiery breath to craft its shell. When it outgrows one, it finds a larger boulder and discards the old one.

The shell on its back is made of hardened magma. The special membrane covering its eyes can sense the heat of objects, so it can see its surroundings, even in darkness.
