Extremely weak and timid, Magisparce tries to hide from danger by burying its head into dirt, sand or mud. However, because the rest of its body remains exposed, this only makes it more vulnerable to being preyed upon.

Its drill-tipped tail is used to burrow into the ground backwards. Its swimming muscles are weak, so it is easily washed away by currents.
