Manking is extremely protective of its spawn, allowing them to cling to its fins for a ride. It's been known to leap high out of the water to attack with its horn, defending its nest and family even from flying predators.

It punches holes in boulders on stream- beds. On sunny days, schools of Manking can be seen elegantly leaping over the waves.
