Minimy's upper body glows due to the radiation emitted by its internal organs. It glows brighter after it's eaten, its gelatinous body vibrating as it digests.
Its source of protection is its slimy, germ-laden mucous membrane. Originally making its home in the ozone layer, it hurtles to the ground when the shell enclosing its body grows too heavy.
