When Necrolie becomes furious, the holes that its prism armor doesn't cover allow the light it has to freely rush out. To stop this large energy loss, it freezes the departing light rays solid and breaks them from its body to gobble them back up.
A Necrolie has the power to instantaneously freeze moisture in the atmosphere. Light is apparently the source of its energy.
