A Palocargo can grow in size by actively melting any sand it moves on and incorporating it into its body. Should anyone ever break a Palocargo's brittle shell, it will immediately viciously attack the one responsible with burning hot sand and glass.

The shell on its back is made of hardened magma. Buried beneath the castle are masses of dried-up bones from those whose vitality it has drained.
