A distortion in Porybarel's design causes it to have its face where its tail should be and vice versa. It tries to ingratiate itself into Bibarel groups, but cohesion is difficult, especially when it attempts to build a dam upside-down.
It makes its nest by damming streams with bark and mud. Additional software was installed to make it a better Pokémon.
