Porygalge spits poison onto computer programs to force them to split and duplicate themselves until they evolve into a malicious virus. It uses the failed program files as cover when antivirus software tries to put an end to its mess.
Their poison is strong enough to eat through the hull of a tanker, and they spit it indiscriminately at anything that enters their territory. Additional software was installed to make it a better Pokémon.
