While hunting, Pupiphish uses built up pressurized gas to propel itself out of the water to ambush airborne prey. It hides in murky water before slamming and gripping onto them with its powerful punchers.

Once it grips prey with its large pincers, it will never let go, no matter what. A Pupiphish creates a gas inside its body that it ejects under compression to propel itself like a jet.
