Raibarel fur carries a strong electrical charge that can cause painful shocks for other Pokémon sharing the water with them. To control the strength of their electricity they will roll in mud, patting it into their fur to insulate themselves.
It makes its nest by damming streams with bark and mud. If it stores too much electricity, its behavior turns aggressive.
