Living in large caverns, Sablflame primarily hunt Carbink for their gemstones. They use their strong talons to pry large gemstones off surfaces to eat them. It is said they are strong enough to move large stones in order to locate meals.

In the fever of an exciting battle, it showers embers from the gaps between its feathers and takes to the air. It digs branching holes in caves using its sharp claws in search of food--raw gems.
