It is a notoriously shy yet curious Pokémon found in warm waters. It sleeps curled up in a fetal position with its tail wrapped around undersea growth, such as seaweed. It actually has a very long tongue, but it rarely uses it.

By cleverly flicking the fins on its back side to side, it moves in any direction while facing forward. When it curls up in a ball, it can make any attack bounce off harmlessly.
