It protects its young by covering them with itself and baring its many sharp quills. These quills are colder than ice and each one exudes cold air in contrast to the desert heat.

Using its diamond-shaped crystals, it can instantly create a wall of ice to block an opponent's attack. It curls up in a ball to protect itself from enemy attacks.
