Amphapoke's tail emits a bright flash of light as an instinctive self-defense maneuver whenever it is jostled too much. Due to Amphapoke's tendency to play with its own tail when bored, it often ends up blinding itself with this light.

It catches prey by dipping its tail in water at the side of a river. It gives off so much light that it can be seen even from space.
