Though Axekarp is able to traipse upon land, it is incredibly inefficient when it does so. Its legs are barely strong enough to hoist up its body, its tusks become brittle when exposed to air, and it often trips on its own lengthy whiskers.

Its swimming muscles are weak, so it is easily washed away by currents. They mark their territory by leaving gashes in trees with their tusks.
