Bellrill's bulbous tail is filled with a clear oil that is lighter than water, allowing it to float on the surface of ponds. When Bellrill finds a comfortable spot, it will extend its root feet to anchor in the mud below the water.

Its body is covered with water-repellent fur. A Bellrill's thin and flexible body lets it bend and sway to avoid any attack, however strong it may be.
