As Carfarig live deep underground, their eyes are mostly atrophied. When they need to look around, they sense the psychic signatures of living things nearby, which makes the gems on their body glow.
A Carfarig is an herbivore--it eats grass and tree shoots. Born from the high temperatures and pressures deep underground, it defends itself by firing beams from the jewel part of its body.
