It raises its jewel-like tail to the air to absorb sunlight, which it can then release like beams in defense of itself. The white tuft around its neck absorbs water, allowing it to stay out of water for hours before it needs to resubmerge itself.

On land, it can powerfully lift large boulders by planting its four feet and heaving. Born from the high temperatures and pressures deep underground, it defends itself by firing beams from the jewel part of its body.
