Because their small bodies leave them vulnerable in open water, Hunseed use their sharp outer spikes for defense. They often anchor themselves to vast coral reefs or hitch rides on larger Pokémon like Lapras to stay safe.
They stick their spikes into cave walls and absorb the minerals they find in the rock. To withstand the crushing water pressure deep under the sea, its spine is very thick and sturdy.
