Lickieye will run its tongue along cave walls in search of gems to eat. It can taste subtle differences in minerals that tell it when gemstones are nearby.
It digs branching holes in caves using its sharp claws in search of food--raw gems. Whenever it sees something unfamiliar, it always licks the object because it memorizes things by texture and taste.
