Many seafaring vessels report a rainbow spanning the sky before Manoh's arrival. It is extremely territorial, and whirlpools of up to 300 feet in diameter have been reported to be summoned by it to sink ships that enter its domain.

Its feathers--which glow in seven colors depending on the angle at which they are struck by light--are thought to bring joy. On sunny days, schools of Manoh can be seen elegantly leaping over the waves.
