The large mouth on Mawtle's rear breathes out a sweet mist that carries a berry-like sweet scent. This haze has a strong paralytic effect; those stunned by it are quickly swallowed up into its jaws.
Mawtle carries Pokémon on its back, picking up bits of metal with its tail mouth and swallowing them along the way. Its shell is made out of soil which gradually hardens into steel.
It lives along water in forests. Its giant jaws are actually steel horns that transformed.
