During battle, Mewbite pushes itself around the field with telekinesis, dodging attacks and countering with its sharp claws. On rare occasions it will pause a fight after landing a hit to check that the opponent is all right before resuming.

To keep their claws sharp, Mewbite regularly scrape them against each other. The flakes that come off of Mewbite's claws are sought after by practitioners of folk medicine, who believe that the flakes will cure any sickness.

There is a long-held belief that medicine made from its scales will heal even incurable illnesses. A Mewbite is said to possess the genes of all Pokémon.
