Nidopede's poison is rather mild, so a single hit is rarely enough to down a foe. Nidopede rolls its resilient body against them in the hopes repeated piercing will inject enough toxin to incapacitate them.

It is usually motionless, but when attacked, it rotates at high speed and then crashes into its opponent. Its highly toxic barbs are thought to have developed as protection for this small-bodied Pokémon.
