Parahoot dig hollows into the trunks of trees, resting their spore cap against the opening whilst they feed on the softer wood inside. Large flocks of Parahoot can prove deadly to trees if left unchecked, draining the plant of all of its energy.

Using its perfect sense of time, Parahoot can predict the best time to scatter its spores. Parahoot prefers to sleep in the trees of damp rainforests, especially where thick canopies block out the sun.

It has an internal organ that senses the earth's rotation. Parahoot are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients.
