Once the mushroom has entirely taken over Paraferno's body, the flame on its tail is extinguished, replaced by a constant stream of spores. Paraferno uses its tail to stab through the ground and into the roots of trees, sapping their nutrients.
To intimidate attackers, it stretches the fire on its tail to make itself appear bigger. Paraferno are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients.
