Parafish anchor themselves to the sea floor by wedging their mushroom into crevices in the rock and inflating it with water. They vigorously shake their body to attract predators, releasing clouds of spores when struck to spread their fungus.

A Parafish uses the pressure of water it swallows to shoot toxic quills all at once from all over its body. Parafish are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients.
