Pararua spores induce hallucinations in those that breathe them in, often causing the afflicted to believe they are facing a different Pokémon. Pararua take advantage of this confusion, striking in unexpected ways in battle.

To protect themselves from danger, they hide their true identities by transforming into people and Pokémon. Pararua are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients.
