Qwilsect's mushroom is covered with dozens of pointed spines. It inflates itself when danger is sensed, causing the spines to fire off and inject the toxic spores within on impact.

Qwilsect swims near Pokémon on the beach, then leaps on them and latches onto them with its spikes. Qwilsect may drag them deep into the ocean so nobody realizes they are gone.

Qwilsect are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients. A Qwilsect uses the pressure of water it swallows to shoot toxic quills all at once from all over its body.
