Sandiper are mostly passive in the wild. Their aversion to violence causes them to be accepted into other Pokémon's colonies, where they work with them to clear away any detritus.

Sandiper usually live in water but come out onto land seeking food occasionally. It moves along below the sand's surface, except for its nose and eyes.
